Texas Dog Show is Zach DeSutter, Nathaniel Hendricks, Mohit Jaswal

From 2015 - 2019 Texas Dog Show produced 15 shorts, 2 promos for Electric Hullabaloo, and played at film festivals such as Slamdance, Fantastic Fest, Sidewalk Film Festival, and Chattanooga Film Festival. This included a jaw-dropping run of 13 shorts between 2015-2016.

Their work ran parallel to a live comedy renaissance in Austin, Texas. Over time their shorts began to feature comedians and performers from within the Austin comedy scene— while never losing their original experimental, pushing the envelope style.

As the videos progressed, they became more elaborate with higher concepts, and higher production value. This all culminated in 2019’s Butt Fantasia, which played at multiple film festivals and won over critics and audiences alike. Critics said of Butt Fantasia— “It is a solid entry into the world of cinema bizarre and I love every nonsensical moment.”

The collaboration of three unique artists— DeSutter, Hendricks & Jaswal, led to a blend of film and comedy unlike anything most audiences will ever see. Their work together also clearly influenced what they would accomplish as individual artists. You see familiar faces in the films that both Jaswal & Hendricks would go on to direct (Redd Jefferson in Night On Sixth & Garbage; DeSutter, Clayton Cook & Jaswal in Ultimate World); not to mention the continued experimentation with structure, form and absurdity.

Texas Dog Show captured a moment in the Austin comedy community for the years that it existed, and fittingly stands as one of the most prolific comedy troupes Texas has ever seen.
